My Story

I’m Katrina—an illustrator, designer, and the creative force behind MOTIF. Art and design are in my blood, inspired by my Danish grandmother, a talented block printer. My journey began at Winchester School of Art in England, where I trained as a print designer. From there, I travelled the world, crafting prints for fashion brands in New York, Amsterdam, and Stockholm.

In 2023, I embraced a new challenge: capturing the essence of my new hometown, Oegstgeest, through painting. What started as simple sketches quickly evolved into individual tempera paintings, each celebrating the charm of local architecture. The enthusiastic response to my work encouraged me to keep going—first in Warmond, then in the enchanting streets of Amsterdam, and soon, Leiden.
